国语辞典楦头，制鞋时塞在鞋内的木质模型。通常皮匠有大小楦头数种，使用时往往一起搬出来，故称为「搬楦头」。后用以比喻揭发阴私，把丑事一一宣布出来。《儒林外史．第四五回》：「又大家搬楦头，说偷著店里的店官，店官也跟在里头打吵。」
