國語辭典去除舊的，建立新的。《左傳．昭公十七年》：「申須曰：『慧所以除舊布新也。』」《隋書．卷五七．薛道衡傳》：「懸政教於魏闕，朝群后於明堂，除舊布新，移風易俗。」也作「除舊更新」。
