古代以干支纪日或纪年。甲为十干之首，子为十二支之首，干支次第相配，可配成甲子、乙丑、丙寅……癸亥共六十种，统称为「甲子」。亦作为一周纪的名称，如用以 纪年，则一周纪六十年称为「一甲子」。
